Clive Boursnell, Covent Garden Photographer Documentary
digital portrait of a 1000 londoners.
a wandsworth resident, clive has been photographing covent garden market ever since 1967 before it moved to the south of the river. local filmmaker, rachel wang caught up with clive one very early morning at new covent garden market to find out why he is still so passionate about documenting the market. rachel commented “i wanted to find out more about clive’s unique perspective on the market’s changing landscape and its recent rebirth in nine elms”.
over the years, clive has established a close relationship with the market sellers, they trust him and allow him a rare glimpse under the skin of the market and its traders. “i wasn't what they called a fair-weather photographer. i was there in the pissing rain, i was there on cold, snowy mornings, i was there when it was just plain miserable, as well as the wonderful sunshine,” explains clive.
